Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Advice for modelling a cloth without ncloth.

Hi,

Im modelling a still life, and want a patterned cloth to be drapped down from the back creating a background and also resting on the table for my objects to rest on?

I've been using ncloth but can't get the right setting.

Any thought on alternative ways to acheive this?

That's odd. You can grab some verts and create transform constraints, rotate and scale those to bunch up the cloth a bit while moving it around until it drapes the way you want. Interactive playback is your friend.

As Gen said.

There are also the presets thatyou can use to get an overall "feel" to the cloth
