joint problems

I have a few questions about joints.

1. Is it possible to connect more than one bone to the same node? Whenever I'm in situations which call for this like the wrist to the fingers the finger nodes keep getting attached to nodes behind the wrist node if I'm adding more than one or another wrist node is mysteriously duplicated for each paste until I have 5.

2. I used to be able to add joints in perspective mode but all of a sudden I can only do it in the directional view modes accessed through the space bar. The same thing occurs for CV points which I've never recalled being able to use in perspective mode. What option can I use to switch back?

3. If it is possible to connect more than one bone to a node I need to know how to select a specific joint in one chain and attach it to a specific one in another. Whenever I try something like attaching an arm chain to a joint in the spinal cord maya balks.

1. Yes, you can, just use the joint tool. Click the wrist joint first, then draw the joint. For the next one, just hit 'y' and repeat. Not sure what you mean by "paste" but it doesn't sound like a good idea.

2. Try going Show > All in the Panel menu. They might be turned off. Regardless, it's generally a good idea to draw joints in ortho views and then adjust in perspective, cause it's hard to control where a joint is being placed in persp

3. Use the connect joint tool. Select the joint to be connected by its root, and then the joint to connect to (spine or whatever) and Skeleton > Connect Joint. You might have to change the tool settings to the other option.

Hope that helps
