set driven Key help

I am animating this soda can I made I seperated the vertices so the can can open. But here is my problem I want to use set driven key linked to a locator but when I laod the set i made of the mouth I get this

if you want to animate the vertices directly I believe you'll have to create clusters from them and use them instead. afaik maya doesnt "do" direct vertex animation..

Kal is right 3djoe u can group specific vertices around the mouth into several different clusters and then use blendshape deformers to animate the mouth. :bgreen:
