Can't Install Maya on MAC OS X

Please help. Every time I try to install Maya onto my mac it does not show up as i installed it. I get no error messages, it just will not let me install the Maya core of the Disk that i have. Can anyone help me user added image

What version of OSX and what version of Maya are you using?
Have you tried changing the install directory. And have you tried showing hidden files then doing a search for it?

10.6.6 is the version of my OSX and 8.5 is the version of Maya. I have tried both of those things and it shows the other things that were installed like the uninstaller and the docs, but not the program.

Sorry, but I don't think I can be of any help, that's pretty odd.
Let me know if you solve it though, it seems pretty bizarre.
