Hiding an object in an animation deletes keyframes

I want to make something like a 3d slideshow in maya...I want it to go from one photo to another, but I want the other photos to be hidden and appear only when the transition is to them...however if I try to hide let's say the first photo shown, also the keyframes that show this photo plane are deleted automatically! user added image

Any help here? Please, even if you have even a simple idea, tell me, I'm going crazy in this! And I thought animation in Maya would be easier than in photoshop.user added image

Crtl + h is simply to relieve scene view clutter, not animation. Since that's what you've been trying to use my guess is that you want the photo just just disapear and not fade out. You can animate the visiblity attribute on objects and achieve this. Just right click the attribute in the channel box and set keyframes.

Yep that worked regarding animation! But now I have another problem...while in Render, all photos display properly. But in Batch Render, they all display as black! I checked their UV's (which seemed stupid, since I have Unitized all their UVs), I reversed their normals (it is used in so many tutorials, I thought it was standard) I even went through the whole process to rotate each plane locally by 180 (tedious!) but still, all photos are black!! Why's that?

You reversed the normals? Does that mean they went from the right way to the wrong way or the wrong way to the right way?
Do you have any lights in your scene? In the render options, is the default light enabled (at the bottom)?

I forgot to update! No matter the normals, the faces were always black! So I checked the default lightset and it was on...I was so tired at the moment after all this work, and I simply added an ambient light without even moving it around. And all the photos in that render were perfectly visible and they didn't even have shadows relevant to the light :|
