maya 2012 commercial version

I bought the commercial version of maya 2012 but all my old files from school when I open it have that stupid popup saying it was created with a student version. I want to use those files and don't want to create them all over again, in case I want to use it for commercial purpose. Is there a way to get around this so they can be saved in my commercial software without the pop-up.

open the older prog and resave them as like a obj and then they should be g2g

If you save over the file, it should remove the popup. Saving as an OBJ would be the destruction of all non-geometry data.

I would not save over the original rather save as mb to an alternate file just in case things go bad you do not destroy your original. But resaving the file might do the trick.
