This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

It's most likely a grouping issue, break up the group (regroup if you have to). Your transform node doesn't know where it belongs so you'll get that weird distortion.

You may have a lot of history and messy nodes as a result because the extract face procedure creates groups if you have it set to separate faces into entirely separate geometry, so that is bound to happen after a while.

Delete the history on your object. That should remove the floating history.

yes you are getting multiple transforms. Whenever you extract a face maya creates a group with the extracted face and the original object and those bits have their own history so when you try to rotate (or transform them in any way) you get multiple translations.

After extracting you will want to delete history on the objects. You may want to ungroup them, delete history, and freeze transforms.

i delete the history of objects...this is the first thing i did n then
post the issue here.

now whenevr i extract i need to ungroup...otherwise it showing the same prob..

but before i worked on many scenes this problem never arise like ungroup rotation stretching the mesh
