Help!! mental ray texture with transparency

Does anyone know how to apply a texture with transparency to a mia x material? I exported the file from photoshop which was a tiff, and put it in the diffuse, but it's not working. Thank you

you mean the transparency is not working or the diffuse is not working?

for transparency why don't you plug the texture into transparency?

Thanks for the reply but I think i might of quoted it wrong. I mean a texture that has an alpha on it. For example a weave pattern in a chair, I cut out all the holes in it, then saved it as a tiff in photoshop. When I bring it into maya, all the holes that I cut out aren't there anymore they are black.
