New trailer for Disneys John Carter film out in March.
I worked on it over a year ago. Helped build alot of the big palace that's seen on the cliff. Also the walking city.
Im still on the fence generally, but will be worth a look.....
Also worth mentioning. This story was written in 1912 by Edgar Rice Burroughs and holds alot of original ideas that films like Star Wars and also Avatar have used quite blatantly.
Cool I've been waiting for this one read the book many moons ago.

Wow thanks Jay...it looks cool man. Yes it is almost an Avatar...or should I say the other way around. 1912!!! must have had a brilliant imagination man!

"A Darkness at Sethanon", a book I aspire to model some of the charcters and scenes
This is the first time I hear about it. But it does seem like the style of Avatar, and something like Gladiator or 300 and Star Wars in aspect. Those spaceships look so awesome! O_O
saw the crew screening this morning in Leicester Square of John Carter....very very cool!!
It was clearly made with lots of love. Andrew Stanton introduced the film to us along with his two producers.
Been waiting for this one might even put up with the Czech subtitles for it

I sat this afternoon and wondered why Avatar did so well, and you know I just cant see, because was just Dances with Wolves in Space, and also very clinical in its feel, I didnt care about the characters. John Carter has alot of love in there...and it has a story!!!
Not a big avatar fan, I'd have loved to see it in 3D just for the experience. But was not an option here. Unless I saw it dubbed in Czech and as no one asked for a beer or the ashtray (pretty much my only Czech) I got stuck with the 2d version.

I saw Star Wars when it first arrived in the 70s, it left you with a sense fun, and you knew you had just been entertained....this did the same (for me anyway) and its very rare for a film to do that these days as its all about marketing and all that crap. The guy who helmed it works/part owns Pixar and we all know how much they care for their films.
I took my 15 year old daughter too...she loved it.
