Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Lock down perspective view to a camera?

In the 4 layout view, I want the perspective view to be locked to camera1 instead...but everytime I change something it resets to the perspective view..is there any way to lock this view so it always stays on the camera1?

Select the camera, and in the channel box, left click drag to highlight the translate and rotate channels, right click and select 'lock selected'. Now the camera won't budge unless you repeat that process and unlock those channels.

I don't mean the camera itself, I mean the viewpanel..it keeps switching back to perspective view..I want it to always stay on camera1

How are you switching views? If you hit space to go from your camera1 to a four view for example, and then hit space to go back, it shouldn't change.
