shatter effect

hello. i'm creating a scene with a destruction of a building. first i applied shatter effect on a part of the building. then i created radial field and applied the field to it (for explosion effect). but nothing happens. i don't get error messages also. it doesn't work even with simple objects, but only in this scene. when i'm trying to make same effect in an empty scene with an simple object, everything works fine.
