Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Left side, bottom and back orthographic views

I was wondering if it is possible to create/get a orthographic viewpoint of the bottom, left side and back side of the object I'm modeling? And if yes, then how?

You can create a new top camera call it bottom then with the camera sellected rota 180 and move down so you are looking up, same for the side and back camera............dave

Edit:Look in panel/orthographic/new/top

Thanks. That worked.

Is there any way to get the orthographic views meny that pop up when to press the spacebar, to display all the different views I have now created?

When you tap the spacebar it should just switch to a layout of side, front, and top views along with perspective. Shouldn't need to change anything other than switching the top view to a bottom view.

Edit here is the little bit of script all you need to change(Bottom) to the name you have given you view

//Bottom
$curPan = `getPanel -wf`;
lookThroughModelPanel Bottom $curPan;

I had this problem and Googled it, and this came up. However I found something better and if I understand correctly you're all doing it in a more complicated fashion than necessary. So even though this thread is old, I'll post this for others. Just go to the top left of your view, and click VIEW > PREDEFINED BOOKMARKS > BOTTOM...Or which ever view you want, all 6 sides are available.
