Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Maya - (3d text + fur) = problem

Hi everybody.
I am beginner MAYA user and I have a problem with applying fur on text.
when I create bevel text and apply fur on it as you can see on the picture I provided the whole letter isn´t covered. There is no problem applying fur on polygon torus. Does anybody have idea how to solve my problem?

the front face is an n-gone. you have to make it quadratic.

hmm

I don´t know how to perform that kind of conversion.

I checked again and now I am getting different result. The fur covers whole front.

It's probably due to that the polygons that aren't getting any fur (in the first image) have no UV assigned to them. To fix this, go to the Polygons menu set, and go to Create UVs>Automatic Mapping. See if that fixes it.
