Lost my grid/object in perspective view

Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I was making a train model in perspective view and I clicked something and now its just blue and I cannot find the grid anymore with my model on it!!! user added image

Okay, that's just the normal background so your object should be hiding somewhere. Try pressing the f key on the keyboard to frame all your geometry. If that doesn't work go to your outliner (window>outliner) and make sure that your geometry still exists and that you haven't somehow deleted it.
