Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

No fill option in maya?

Hi,
I have recently migrated from blender and have a trivial query...
In blender we can select any 4 vertices and if we press "f" key, we can fill that vertices with a quad face.
How to do this in Maya?
I tried Edit Polygons > Fill Hole but it fills whole face (i.e. For e.g. )face is having 8 vertices ,it fills it with an ngon.
I want to select 4 vertices(which I am able to do) and then fill these 4 vertices with a face.
How do I do that?

Use the split poly tool to cut up the ngon or use the append to polly to create a 4 point polly at a time...............dave

You can't have floating vertices like you can in Blender.

Can you give us a screen shot of what you're trying to do?

^^^^ That statement is somewhat untrue. You can import a mesh with floating vertices. So they can exist in the viewport depending on the origin of the model.
