How reapply Deformer?

Hi, I have a primitive rectangle that I applied two "non-linear bends" on, one horizontal and another vertical. When I delete faces or edit the mesh, I break the input connections. How can I keep them together, or quickly reapply them? I'd rather not create new "bends" every time I want to see how it looks wrapped.

I'm creating a cup, and there's a stylized metal band that wraps around the middle so I'm trying to edit the shape while flat and then use the bend deformers to make them wrap.

If there's any other suggestions I'm open to them.
Please use terms I can google like "quoting" if it's the name of a tool so i know if you mean "smooth" vs smooth (using bevels and inserting extra edges with "split selected edge ring"; so techniques). user added image
