I have moved to poly modeling for a while. I had been trying to learn patch modeling and I think that I need to gain more skills before I contine. So I've started this poly character. This is about 2 hours of work.
Any critic and advise would be wonderfull.
Im using the tut at: https://www.thehobbitguy.com/tutorial...ing/index.html
as a guide. I don't know if this is the best example of how to start learning this method but I like the hobbitguys work so here we go.

Thanks Pony,
Heres an update after a little bit of work. I guess that the eyes will need a lot more work. the seam is giving me lots of trouble. I am hoping that will get better as I add detail.

NP. I see you did the eyes.. and it seemed to help for sure. at least the eye aria is much eazyer to work with now.
your getting some good strong caricter there.. but unless your after frainkinstine the heads to boxy. just abovve ware the eye brows are. squies thoghs vertexs in and back some.. if you use the sculpt poly tooll just keep on smothing around there it will pull corners of they boxy ness back in to a more round shap would be the eazyes to do..
I'll draw a pic a bit latter to shwo the aireas if you don't mind.
and are intrested
oh, great improvement since last update. the seams especially becomes less and less visible. the head is getting character already. if you try to make a human beeing, it for sure is some ugly guy right now. i dont mean ugly as bad, just scary looking
Yeah I think you've have my idea.....I am going for a realistic human but this is real new to me so I'm not going for beauty. I figure I can learn the most if I go from start to finish on my first few experiments. So this one is coming from a simple drawing rather that a real detailed photo of a real person.
