Bevel Tool (Surfaces -> Bevel)

Hi

I'm just wondering if anyone can help me out with the bevel tool

I'm beveling some text, to make it 3D, and I'm getting different results on different letters...

When I bevel some letters, they come out like this
user added image

This is how I want them (notice the edges go inwards.. as you would expect)

But when I bevel others, they come out like this
user added image

With the edges turned outwards, and skinny, ugly looking text user added image

Anyone?

I am using the exact same bevel settings for each.
Infact, if I select all the letters, and then click bevel, some come out like the top picture, and some like the bottom picture.

Well I figured it out, I had to set the bevel width to -0.1, instead of 0.1, for the troublesome characters...

I wonder why some characters have to have it set to -0.1 and some to 0.1 user added image

Owell, at least it's good now, perhaps someone can explain this
