Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

How good am I? Digital Matte...

Okay. I want to test you guys to see how good of a job I'm doing with this image. I'm going to post the altered image first and let you guys study it and then tell me what you think has been composited in to it. Then, next week, I'm going to post the original image and see how close or on point you guys were. The one who gets the most things right will win an all expenses paid trip to his own bedroom! WOOHOO! :banana:

Lets see, it looks like that volcano in the background has been put in, along with the smoke.. then the brick wall in the front looks like it has been added onto, or its totally new. Anyways, thats what i see so far. It also looks like you have a background.. and then have added hill images above it... anyways, im trying to be as harsh as i can.. its an awesome image.. and half of what i said could actually be in that scene user added image.. heheh, cya later.

Here´s the layers compositing in my POV bud.
I didn´t include the mountains and the skies, as I´m still looking at clone and healing brush tell-tale marks.

**EDIT** Mountain and skies definitely on different layers.
Still looking. Might post more tomorrow.

I agree with M and ADL.

GREAT composite though!

If you run a 3x3 pizel average to balance the white and black points of each layered element, they would look like they were shot together, and make it MUCH harder for us to see the differenceuser added image

I agree. Play with the image´s Hue and Saturation controls, to see how easy it is to spot the difference.

totally agree with the other guys - the composition has obvious lines which pinpoint where pieces have been added. Of course we r looking for errors so it easy to notice but at first glance u wouldnt be able to tell so easily!

Its not the easiest thing to grade match each composite but u have done well user added image

Hmmm.. Interesting. What's that method of averaging ragecgi? 3x3 pixel average? How do u do that?
