Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Mac Maya

Mayans

Just out of interest does 'ANYONE' actually use Maya for the Mac? I noticed in Maya 5 review in 3D World magazine that George Cairns was saying that A/W are looking at market trends before commiting to releasing Maya Unlimited on the Mac platform.

Now I can understand this if there is one on Mac Mayan to every two dozen Win Mayans. I personally like using OSX but I think what put alot of people off of the Mac is that the fastest is a dual 1.42ghz machine, compared to upto 3ghz PCs and that the range of GPUs is much better on the PC. That's not to mention price!

Come on there must be another Mac Mayan out there surely?

I own and use a full commercial license of Maya 4.5 for OS X. I know there are others on SM who run Maya on a Mac.

If you go to the Mac OS Maya Disscussion Group page there is an interesting thread from someone who had a conversation with someone from AW who strongly hinted that Unlimited will make it to the Mac platform... don't know when though.

It's all to do with marketing. Apparently since the release of Mac Maya AW has increased its sales by 25%.

go mac maya!!!

i use maya at school(bowling green state university in ohio) and we've got labs with both mac and peecee. being a dedicated mac mayan, i'm always on the macs. they don't compare to my mac(single 867 vs dually 1gig), but it's familiar.

i guess the 64 MB ATI radeon 9000 Pro should satisfy you. But you're right. It's overdue!
