Rendering a wireframe or half and half

How do you render a wireframe in Maya I know you can do it in 3DS somehow... but how in maya I have yet to see an option... in 3DS you can render a part wireframe and part actual render so you get a nice half and half effect.

This has been answered quite a few times...

Quick Answer: You can't without a plugin.

there is a way of rendering a wireframe in maya it's a hell of a pain in the arse though as I recall but i did see a tute on the net somewhere. do a search on google for it.

You can then just render the other half and then put them together in photoshop. But mike's also right you should search for a question before posting to check if it's been answered already as people do get bored of answering the same questions over and over user added image

Maya 5 has the vector renderer that can do wireframes. Other than that i guess ragecgi is right, hardware render.

Also, You can invert your texture map colors of all of your objects and Apply them as textures with transparency. Very time consuming, but produces a great effect.
