This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
Hi to all of you!!
I saw this chalenge only yesterday, but even being a noob and knowing that i dont have a chance to win, i hould like to participate, after all, bad it isnt going to do! Hope that it isnt too late to enter the chalenge.
I started to model this mutant chicken today, and i will be glad if you post a coment / sugestion
(forgive me if i wrote too many things wrong, but i dont write so well in english)
Hey man this looks really good . I love the whole head . One thing thats hard to beleive is you whipped this up in one day and didnt read the rules like we have posted here on SM. You have to post progress shots from when you started the model to when you finished the model, keep that in mind.
One thing i notice is that you have a major abundance of polygons.. is that with a displacement map baked on or is that after its smoothed? lol, i love his little shirt though . Cya
"I should call you sugar maple tree cause i'd totally tap that" haha
Thx for the comments, but doing the main part of the project (at last in this case) is the easy part. The details are the hard part, and they are what makes something great and not only normal.
The details are also the part in wich i have the most problems, and usualy my projects turn to be something simple because the lack of detail, but i will try to work harder this time.
Here is the image os the new eyes of my character (it looks more crazy now)
My character is ringed, but I dont know how to pose him yet and have more to do before posing and final rendering. Anyone have an idea of what can i make to control him? A golden egg? A yellow cage to put it on? Maybe a remote control?
Here is the sword i made for him
You can see that i have draw the blades outlines with the pencil curve tool and then aplied a planar on it, then convert to poly and extrude, mesh smooth
The other part of the swrod was made by box modeling, as you can see.
( i modeled the hole body from a box too)
