Can someone help me? i cant get these to sub D surfaces to attach. tried attach sub d tool, it gave some weird result like it came out of a blender. Tried Attach with 0 threshold and merge edge tool, made an even more scary site.

I'm afraid I don't have any experience with SubDs to help you, buddy. Sorry about that.

Just when you thought it was safe to use sub division surfaces

Check the normals on both surfaces are pointing in the same direction.

here's the only sure-fire way I know how.. ok...its really not combining subds, but hey it worksuser added image If Kurt is around I am sure he has a better way(he rocks!)

convert 2 polys@level 1 vertices-->combine polys--> weld the vertices--> poly cleanup--> back to SubD

but if you have tweaked the subs at Level2 or higher you would lose your work.

hope that helped!

ok, here's what i did
both objects were in standard mode, clicked then both, then sub-d menu --> attach, bring up the menu, then i played a bit with the threshold, put it up at 0.0200 and applied it.

Then, you have to drag away your original models away from the combined model, if you checked to keep the original models, and everything looks fine then.

Hope this helps ya, had the same problem today, and with a bit of fiddling, i got it solved.

cheers
