seems that mental ray doesnt work with maya 4.5 but it worked fine with maya 4.0 anyone else have this problem?

thanks im going to be using mental ray .. but i only have the windows version so i guess ill have to use NT based machines .. will i lose anything by using NT boxes then Linux bxes?
