i was playing the devils advocate, business is business and friendship is friendship, you can show someone a blues scale but that doesn't make them Elmor James. Its the practise, you can have $10,000 worth of Maya, gnomon, digi tuts, but that doesn't make you a good modeller. I think knowledge should be for free but in years gone by, it WAS power and people did not give it away, it was currency and it was a living just to be able to read and write (a scribe).

what comes around goes around isn't knowledge, its karma. so the receiving is in the giving and not the knowledge.
