mine is Noise free(for the most part) at 20 hours... but i want to keep rendering untill 100 is up!

i am at sampling level 15/100 at 20 hours... will post after render is done!

the only problem is the Noise in the caustics, and the lack of light on top of the rings.... hmmm

That's definately very grainy caustics though. Your render is great, but them caustics... Maybe non-IOR materials would have been better????

I'm gonna have a go with Maxwell but caustics shape up very badly in Maxwell (like light thru glass... etc).

But your render overall is top notch! user added image

I might give maxwell a spin for this scene. Without IOR materials.

joopson - r u serios that u waited 100 hrs to render didnt ur comp over heat an die by then since most r design for bursts of work of length 12hrs


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

Halfway done with my Maxwell render. SL 16.14 after 5hrs31mins.

On a Pentium 4 3.2gHz HT processor, speed boost (some odd app, I think it is.. user added image my dad put it there, not me) to 3.47gHz.

I'll keep rendering for another 6:30 hours, though. Maybe I can get to SL 20, but I doubt it. 2 more hours 'till SL 17.

Watermark isnt that bad I think.

edit- Materials need work too, though.

lol, well I did make it a bit less obvious by adjusting the image's color curves and saturation/ etc.

Here's final 7 hrs 15 mins SL 17.12
