Snapping verteses in a group?

So, if you have a group of verteses and you want them to snap to the middle... why would they not all, individually snap to the middle, in a nice straight line? Basically, mine snap to the grid at the center point of all the group of verteses I have selected... very frustrating.

Thanks all!

Ooh, that worked. Thanks! That helps so much with making the other half of the model and combining it. My life just got a whole lot easier. Whew.
