Modelling birds

Does anyone know of any resources for modelling birds? Specifically, ravens or crows?

I'm sure the basic form, while not easy, is doable with a little work - I was thinking more of how to do feathers in a semi-realistic manner.

Thanks for any info.

I'm also planning to do a raven soon and I think that the most of the work is in the textures.

I don't know a tutorial, but I think you might want to work a lot with transparency/alpha maps for the texture work. For the feathers, just use planes and apply the feather texture and alpha map. That's what I used for wings awhile back for experiment, it wasn't perfect but it looked pretty nice. user added image

Okay, I'll try that. Man, this isn't going to be easy, though.....user added image
