specularity noise

Hi i wanted to shatter the specularity by using a noise map but i am not sure where to plug it in? I am using a blinn and a phong material.

Plug the noise map into the specular color.
Make sure its a gray scale map though or your values might be a little off.

sorry, i have another question. How do you do it for lambert since it doesnt have any specular color??

a Lambert by its very nature does not have a specular highlight ..its supposed to be matt and not shiny so why would you even use a lambert for a shiny object ?
The answer would be to set the material type to blinn ..hehe
