Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Best way to do this using cylinders

I'm working on a barn created by cutting a cylinder in half, but I'm wondering, which of these two methods would be best?

I would personally use the left one as there is a pinch point in the right one which could cause problems. And of course they are all quads

Cheers myth

The left one actually has an n-gon, so I would continue the middle edge all the way up.

Thank you, I was hoping the left one would be the best, since it doesn't have too many triangles, and of course the middleline should go all the way up, it's a mistake that I didn't do it here.

But thanks for the help, I appreciate it
