Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Maya to 16:9 DVD?

anybody know how to properly setup maya rendering for outputting for use on a DVD?

i know DVD mpeg2 format for NTSC is supposed to be 720x480, but I'm unsure how to setup 16:9 aspect ratio in Maya, i got all sorts of aspect ratios in render globals and in camera attributes...

what's the best approach? anybody care to clarify this stuff for little confused me? user added image

Well, it depends on what LENS you are using for your shot.

Also, the 601 standard for tv is 720x480 using a pixel aspect ration of 1.
OR 720x486 using a pixel aspect ratio of .9

Other European contries use the PAL standard, and it really depends on your final personal quality needs, or your studio prefsuser added image

Here are my settings for a 35mm lens AND for a 70mm lens:

35mm first:
