This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
I am doing this tutorial https://www.metic.net/maya/HDRI/hdri.php and towards the end, the HDRI image was eliminated from the rendered scene by simply clicking on the R in the layer. This does not work the same way in version 7. I have messed with the overrides quite a bit but havent really been able to figure it out. I've been able to remove the nurbs plane and sphere in the center from the renders but not the HDRI sphere.
have u set the layer to render like he did
if so im not sure try the one at digitaltutors.com as they have a good free tut on this which might explain it better(its practicaly the same vid but with diff colour what a rip off)
to remove the HDRI sphere from the Render if you are using the IBL creation tool in Mental Ray which I am assuming you are is;
In the attribute editor open the IBL shape node and then under render stats tab uncheck primary visability. This will remove the sphere from the render.
