Hello ieoie,

what you've got there looks like a playblast rather than a render. You need to do a batch render of your anmation either as an AVI or as a sequence of still images which you would later stitch together in some video editing software.

Have a look in the help files (f1) under.....

Learning Resources > Getting Started with Maya > Rendering

There you will find an introduction and a few tutorials on rendering which will probably help you out.

Take it easy,

Mat.

Hi HappyMat,

thx for helping me out on this one

creating a beautifull .avi file without 3d contaners
is a definatly must when working with maya

;-)

with the maya software render i can make it into a .avi file but the quality of that is very poor

the mental ray render images are very sharp and nice
when i open them into image ready from adobe,
in image ready i can only create an .swf file, no .avi file

so can you advise me on what program i use to create a .avi file out of a sequence of .jpeg or .bmp images

kind regards

ieoie

Hello again,

Videomach is a cheap alternative, if you follow the link you can get a free trial and then it's only about £30.00GBP to buy.

There are plenty of video editing (Vegas, Premiere, Avid) or compositing software (After Effects, Shake) packages you could use if you have the money to spare alternatively you could go the open source route and try out Jahshaka which is free to download and re-distribute.

Hope that gives you some ideas of what's out there,

Mat.
