This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Use the 3ds plug in, its either in the plug in manager or its one of the bonus tools which you have to download.

You will need to download the Maya 2008 Bonus Tools from autodesk and install it.

Once done relaunch Maya 2008 and go to Windows > Plug-In Manager and scroll down to the 3dsimport.mll and tick it.

Job Done.
