Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

the texture looks like its a really dry surface and it looks like the dark lines should be cracks

did you use a bump map on it? if so maybe you nneed to increase the bump to give the dark parts more depth.

You could even try iy as a displacement map eith Mental Ray, tha way it will give you little bits n pieces sticking out nicely, if you work in it a bit more.

Try to reduce the Reflectivity of the bodywork so its not like a mirror.

Maybe add some dirt to the 4*4?

As its daylight, i`d remove the glow on the lights

Try adding some dirtmaps or a fractal to the specularity of the tyre.

Add an extra smooth level on the background mountain thing sticking out, i see some unsmoothed edges.

Thou adding a displacement you need to see what ammount of polygons you need to make it look good.

Maybe add some extra modelled rocks? Some twigs? Plants?

For your first model, you should be very proud, nice work!

Lets kick some ass to get it better eh user added image
