making objects transparent.. for referencing.

How do i make geometry transparent so i can see through it on to my reference plane??

Assign a new material to it then lower the transparancy, or use X-ray

Isn't easier to assign a layer to it and then press in the empty square so it becomes a T.

if you did that then the image plane wont be visible.

cool. x-ray is just what i was looking for. and i also have one more question well not really a question but what the hell are the green things and how do i make the the little face squares go away when i'm not in face mode??
