Total newbie. lost some of the panels on the left side...where is it!?

Hello all, im following the Lynda.com Maya 2011, Essential
Training, was trying to the video, but i pressed the wrong button - ive lost all the tabs on the left side somewhere? I cannot switch over from Animation, Polygons , etc also. As u can see ive lost half of the maya program lol. thx for any help........

try pressing CTRL - SPACE (edit : funny i didnt think of this before as i use it alot ^^)

or goto

Display --> UI Elements --> "and turn on the ones you need"

the left side is the "toolbox" where your move, rotate, etc etc are
top side to change is the "shelf"

or just click "restore UI elements" to go to default like it was installed.

and so on ^^

Just go up to display and select UI eliments tick witch ones you want, not sure what hot key you pressed.........dave

I'm in favor of pressing buttons randomly... just save your stuff before you go nuts.
a) You find faster ways to do things
b) You learn more when things go wrong
