Render settings tabs

Maya 2012: I'm noticing that in the render settings when I pick mental ray, I still have tabs for software, hardware, hardware 2.0. Annoying. Is that normal and can I turn them off? I have to scroll way over to get to lighting.

Okay, so the render settings are back to the proper number of tabs. Must be a bug.
