Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

What set up do you use?

I haven't looked back since. I've scripted tools to help me along, was pretty fun (still learning and tweaking actually).

I´m using linear workflow since little less than a year now in combination with WOM_archlight shader on area lights and mia_exposure_photographic + mia_material_x. there is still a lot to learn. I didn´t work a lot in the renderings section before, but since I do, I rather quickly found out that once LW is used, going back to "wrong lighting" doesn´t make too much sense.

everything starts and ends in the right place at the right time.

Not as complicated as you would think in later versions of Maya.
