Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Ways to smooth an edge?

What are the different ways of smoothing an edge? Is there an automated way to do this ? Like smoothing a curve maybe... I just wanted to see if i am missing some techniques. As you see in images, i have a bumpy mesh. scult geometry tool makes me loos control most of the time and moving verts is boring as always user added image
Want to learn some new ways if there are some...

Average vertices works in many situations but not all. You can also snap to the grid (in world move mode I think) and maintain offset turned off. Then move them back to where they should be.

i scale verts in some cases but the screen shot doesnt properly show the curved surface of the van. if i scale i will lose the curve. Is there a way to follow, like we do in smoothing a cv curve. It would be nice to see maya do some approximate calculation and fix the verts automatically.
