Maya 2008 Compatibility

Please, is there anyone out there who could let me know how well Maya 2008 plays with Windows 7 or 8. I am thinking of switching from XP Pro to probably Win 7. As I am trying to learn HTML5 and XP, from what I understand, can only have IE8 and HTML5 does not work well with that version, as it needs IE9 or better.

Please, let me know if I have my info correct and concerning how well Maya 2008 plays with Win7 or Win8. Perhaps with Win 8 it is too soon to tell.

Thanks!

Just use firefox or chrome seems the simple solution
