Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Fixing skin problems?

Hi, What is the best method for fixing poor skinning results, other than going back to the skinning itself, maybe some sort of deformer???

I mean some sort of angle deformer, kinda like a blend shape for limbs etc, so you can do muscle bulges etc, but in this case I want to use it to fix some dodgy skinning? Used to do this trick in Max, just wondering if it's possible in Maya?

I use Blend Shapes for muscle deformation and to tweak minor problems with the weights.

You do want to try to get the majority of the weights fixed up by painting them, though.
