This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Dang this thing is TUFF!! Brian must be running a sweeet system, mine coulnd NEVER handle that heavy a mesh. Keep it up brian, i really wish i had one of these parked outside my house!

Here is a wire... Btw My system... I have two... One with dual 2.4 ghz athalon's 1gb of ram an 128mb GForce4 and 40 gb hard drive

second one is a single 3 GHz Exon with 2gb ddr ram and 2 13gb Scuzzy drives. It also has a Quadro 900 video Card user added image user added image user added image

There are some tri's here and there, but I tried to keep it quads. THe actual mesh for the truck is light, so that when I convert to Subd's there won't be any bumps... Here is the side

I can still open this on my older computer... Its a Sony Vaio Pentium 3, 1.2 Ghz with 512 mb of ram and a Gforce 3 TI500 video card. Ok its not that old,user added image but its still chugs a bit on a GF3. If you have less of a machine, layers make all the difference, only have on what you need to, that way its still easy to rotate and stuff. I now have about 16 layers just for this truck. For the stuff I do for work, get this... I have over 300 (if not more)user added image user added image Maya Layers per scene , so that I can still work in a scene that has some where around 2 million Faces.

OMG i have a PIII 533 mhz, 256 mb ram, 32mb vid card and all that. I must learn how to use these layers! Thanx for the tip brian.

I HAVE NO IDEA! But get this, i take such good care of my comp, it can run Pshop AND Maya at the same time!!
