Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Maybe that's just it, maybe there is nothing wrong......o yeah...no fur right now, that's all I can think of. Maybe more scars on his face, not blood...just old scars. That might add more realism.

Think you should move onto the eyes, try to get them real then you can look at your model as if its got "life" to it, this probably will help you to look at the overall realism of it.

the nose looks like it needs some more rounding off. The nostrils are quite squarish.

Hey Mc-fleury! It may be because my mind is in bump map mode, but I think you should concentrate on bump mapping the exposed skin of the face more than the color maps. My main reason for saying this being that from pictures I've seen of these apes their skin is very dark and quite shiny and so color variations aren't nearly as obvious as are their wrinkles and facial structure.

Keep up the progress, dude!

Looks good, gives it more life and makes it look a lot better just bY adding the eye.

Dunno if you've done it yet but i think the eye could do with some reflection on it.

Good work man!

Hey mc-fleury, the bump map is definately working well with your model - your gorilla is looking really good, but an area that bothers me is the ear. The top ridge looks a little sharp, but it may be the camera angle.
