Excellent model, however ...
Hello, Wicket
Excellent model mate.
If you allow me I´ll try to make some constructive critics.
Do you have ambient light turned on? (or the equivalent?)
I say so since the model just seems too flat, play around with some lights, (perhaps coming from the ground as if they needed to light the robot -if you notice, they actually do so in the series-)
Judging by the fact that you made a skeleton, you might want to pose him a wee bit more dynamically. Make him look he´s almost going to try something out. Maybe aiming his weapon? Perhaps his wings spread? Maybe just landing? Or maybe falling from great height and totally destroying the very ground he falls on to?
As per the model in the center <adldesigner remembers his art teacher>, you might want to try to use some rule of thirds, it´ll make the image stand out much better.
I took the liberty out of sketching a little what I want to ilustrate to you, in one of your pictures. I cropped it a bit (To get it into a better composition -and to make it stand out better-), played a little with dodge -look how it suddenly looks more 3d, and certainly bulkier- and played a little with the lights and contrast.
Hope you don´t mind.
I´d change the pose though -my favorite would the robot landing and kinda destroying the ground below him, with his wings spread and all-
As per the flames on front I like the idea, but certainly not the wall of flames. Imagine the same explosion you have on your upper left corner, and try to get it near the bottomright of the picture, it should look better,
Hope this helps mate, I really like this one, maybe that´s why I took the time in this post.
