This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
i dont use tutorials cause who wishes to learn from me addes me to msn and i.m pleased to help him there 'live tutorial' for those who doesnt have msn or hates it, i'm opening a site soon (its under construction) and i'll place tutorials there made by me.
ya know, i was just gonna ask the same thing about rendering setup... i'm not used to working a lot in versions of maya past 4.0 so 6 and 7 are new to me, and i haven't bothered a lot with mental ray. i know they make really pretty renders, but at the same time i'm too impatient to actually go through (read: follow and complete) tutorials besides reading them and thinking 'gee i'll remember that'...
i've been looking through the wip and finished sections for a while without posting much, but i've gotta say that your FF sword and the phone stand out the most for me. matt-the-man and others have been showing alternate renderers, but with the posted render times and the results i can't see the reasoning behind going anywhere than maya software or mental ray render...
perhaps you can share the wealth with someone behind the times?
here's an other preview of the scene. darn i nearly posted the .mb file, anyone wishes to learn something or for ideas can add me to msn I could help along the way
