Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Doesn't bother me at all man. I made you a turntable. Here's a low rez version before I smoothed it. I think you'd benefit from this low rez more than if I showed you a smoothed version. I think I maybe using too many polies for a model like this, but hey I'm still learning too. user added image

Here's my attempt at texturing. I've been redoing it quite a bit. Finally figured, hey....maybe I should just focus on the head first like Jay did. The bump map is not really a map right now, I just used the maya shader. I actually saved it out as a psd file so I could apply it on my photoshop file and then overlap it with more bump maps, but........when I saved it, for some reason the bump map size didnt look right when I reapplied it to the shader. I had to actually decrease the bump value, but it's scale is so much larger than what I had before. So...........basically I'm just going to do the painting first, then go back to the bump next, once I get it down, I'll try to learn all those other maps.

The look I'm going for is realistic, I was trying this tutorial, but it confused me halfway. https://imaginecube.com/text_tutp1.html
I don't expect to have it look that good, it'd be a plus if I could. I mainly just want to learn how to use all those maps, create bumps, blah blah everything required to make something look real.

By the way, I've never really dwelled much into shaders or, lighting and rendering either. I realized that those 3 play a big role in making them look real, but should I worry about it now or just worry about it after I'm done with the mappings.

Anyhow, critiques appreciated.

I had it skin color before so I could see how it looks, before I changed it to green. Figured...if it doesn't look good in human skin, it won't look good in green.

love this model, very, very cool. Brings back memories of playing with the old action figures. The timings good as well considering that they're currently making a 3d CG film of the good ol' ninja turtles. I wonder how similar the models will be to this interpretation?

Added layers of spots and blemishes, and worked on the eyelids a little.

I'm almost confident the movie one won't look anything like this. It's aimed torwards kids eventhough the story is based off the comics. I think the characters were more cartoony according to the poster. Can't wait for it. user added image
