Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Allo,

Tick- thanks, i'll make it a bit more rounded but it will probably look fuller when i add all of the icing (Witch 'll be about three layers per level of cake)

mtmckinley- he he,
if i getr the time i will make a scene for it. i like the idea of terrified children staring up at the cake. i was thinking about making a ring of smoke around the top of it like you see in movies on the top of evil structures.

13th_resident- what do ya mean about strawberries? If you are refering to the little blobs around it they are icing decortations.

Ha ha - Lots of great ideas on your thread Some Guy - I really like the idea of having stuff going on on the cake, with a real sized kid watching it all - good start on the modelling mate.

nothin to be sorry about. user added image

Here is the cake in a more fattened state. I am going to re-do the icing drips in a cleaner way than the last one.

I just can't get myself motivated to finish this project so i went back and got a new combo.
it is "Multiple mice" I immediatley got the idea to have a little old lady standing in her kitchen while she defends herself against a horde of rodents. i'll post some concepts soon.

Very Nice progress. Texturing should be really fun with this one.
