Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

yeah, that's the plan, Perfecto user added image

I took a step back and started a new sculpt with him in-pose
but there's still a ways to go.
Then my graphics card failed so I'll be out of it for a week or so.

EXCELLENT! Nice improvements. The clothes are looking good and I like the improvement you made to the characters left arm, especially the forearm. This is really taking shape now!

Hope you get more time to work on it because it's looking really great, but I know how it is, I don't think I'll get a chance to do any modeling myself this week at all. Keep up the good work!

Nice going man, loving the details that youve put in.

Only thing that I can crit is that theres something how the lower part of the jacket is looking, cant put y finge ron it, might be that it looks a bit "stiff" and "thick, if you get my meaning.

Thanks, guys user added image

what do you think I should do about the hat? I don't want to change it much because that's really what ties it into being cap'n crunch

although I realize now that it's not recognizable to everyone that he's from a cereal :headbang: haha

you have seemed to have updated the face and body but left the hat the same style as before
(and lets face it the cereal character did not have the best looking hat to start with).
I would add details to it like seams, and give it a leather texture look and reshape it a bit so it looks more real. I think its the shape more than anything that needs the work. I know you want it to look like the ref but I think you can get it looking a lot better - well if the rest of the body is anything to go by. good luck
