Just added the back tail lights. Need to add the inside of them now. I don't think mental tay likes that texture.

Is all I can say is wow, as young as you are and you are doing such an awesome job!! I wish I would have gotten started into learning animation when I was that age. I was too busy playing Unreal Tournament user added image. But that is a really good job, although I personally think the paint looked better before you used the mental ray. But maybe it will look better when it is finished. I am a newbie and you are an inspiration to me. And so it is known, I am not really old or anything, im 21. I just really wish I would have started as early as you are. I think you have a very good future ahead of you if you continue to learn as you have. Good luck.

Mental Ray WORKS!!

I got Mental Ray to work!!! And the Paint finally looks good. I think it might be a bit to shinny, but thats kinda what a new car looks like. C & C plz. PS. I didn't do any work to the car yet, i just finished the paint job.

Heh, hey man.. mental ray is great, and it looks sweet on that render, but because this is a realism challenge, you may want to go with a paint that is more realistic.. you could probably make one that looks real just with a phong with some color to it user added image. Yea ,the windows are giving out funky reflections user added image. Lookin wonderful though.

The inside of the car is empty, so the window is picking up back tire in the reflection. I think i might tint out the windows or else put something in there. Rendering out a 360 of the car... taking like 10 hours to render.

i've already done my TT. I'd suggest using a multi-pass rendering technique. Final Gather to start, specular pass, shadow pass, etc...you'll get a better final output.

oh, and just loft the bottom isoparms across so the floor doesn't show through. user added image

Good job
